BERLIN, GERMANY–Aldous H. Scheisskopf, direct descendant of National Socialist Party’s former head of Germany Adolf Hitler, has filed a lawsuit in US federal court claiming that the United States declared war on Nazi Germany for religious reasons.

Attorneys with faith-based nonprofit Sturm & Sturm are representing Scheisskopf. Scheisskopf and SS are expected to make a statement Thursday.

At issue are the contents of Hitler’s book “Mein Kampf,” which detailed his plans for Germany. Those plans ultimately led to the Holocaust, an extermination of anyone Hitler’s Germany deemed to be objectionable, whether for their race, religion, or sexual inclination.

Many decry Hitler’s beliefs as offensive, while others see them as an expression of religious beliefs.
